Sangeet Night

← Back to Wedding Guest Guide

The most glamorous night of the wedding week. The Sangeet is your opportunity to dress boldly, dance freely, and make a statement. Restraint is not invited.

What is the Sangeet?

The Sangeet is an evening of performances, dancing, and celebration shared by both families. Groups perform choreographed dances, there's live music, and it often goes on well past midnight. Think of it as a glamorous, festive party where everyone performs.

What to Wear

This is the event to pull out your most glamorous outfit. A heavily embellished lehenga, a sequin sharara, a metallic saree, or an embroidered Anarkali are all perfect. Go for jewel tones — emerald, cobalt, fuchsia, burgundy, royal blue. You will be dancing, so make sure your footwear is comfortable enough for the floor.

What to Avoid

Muted or understated outfits look out of place at the Sangeet. Avoid anything too restrictive that limits dancing. Don't wear stilettos unless you're sure of the flooring. White and very light pastels can get lost in Sangeet lighting.
